Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) today unveiled its highly anticipated JICT Auto Gate System (JAGS) which provides customers with more efficient and accurate delivery and pick up of containers at Indonesia’s preferred container terminal. “JAGS will streamline the handling of containers moving in and out of the terminal. This is part of an overall effort to increase terminal capacity and continually improve our service levels,” said Albert Pang, President Director of JICT.

JICT will work closely with Organization of Land Transportation (Organda), a trucking association in Jakarta, to ensure a smooth roll out of JAGS to terminal users. JICT has so far registered 12,000 trucks and issued Truck Identification (TID) cards to trucking companies for access to the terminal. JAGS will replace check booths at the entry/exit gate with an Automatic Checkpoint Machine that uses Radio-frequency Identification (RFID) cards and tickets to replace the previous delivery and loading cards. The system will significantly reduce transaction time at the gate and waiting time in the parking area. JICT has also taken delivery of 20 new fuel-efficient container tractors with Euro 3 eco-friendly technology. This technology has become the standard within European Union countries for hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide emissions.“We are very excited to receive these eco-friendly tractors to support JICT’s yard operations,” said Mr. Pang. “These machines are in line with our overall green initiative and commitment to reduce carbon emissions in the port area.”The implementation of JAGS and the arrival of new equipment are part of an expansion plan that will boost the terminal’s annual handling capacity to 2.8 million TEU.

REDRES CONSIGNEE IN INDONESIA

Sometimes we do import shipment cargo have situation that we have problem about Redres Consignee, which  consignee name include address consignee in BL (Bill of Lading) not similiar with Packing list, Invoice list and other document of import. this accident will efffect with  rejected by customs of indonesia. hereby i would like share how do problem solve about Redres consignee, Check to shipping line that when liner will arrival to destination. if liner not arrival to destination yet,  you can revise bl by shipper order to liner for revise. but since liner has arrival to destination you must extra jobs :

a. Please provide Packing List, Invoice list, NIK, SIUP, TDP, NPWP.

b. Please provide permit letter, authory letter and job letter.

c. go to liner, order to revise bl and make declaration letter that consignee name and address is wrong type, other than pls print BL

d. go to customs of Indonesia ( Manifest Dept)  with bring all import document include permit letter.

if you don't know about import process, you can order to your forwarder to take all redress consignee process.

IMPORT CARGO TIPS IN INDONESIA

Since you have business and import cargo from outbond country to Indonesia, you must know import rules and custom clearance in Jakarta. many peoples or companies does not know about this situation, they import cargo from China, singapore, Hongkong, Australia, Malaysia, USA, germany and others countries without care view import rules of Indonesia,that effectly they cargo can not out from Customs area. even they cargo will be owned by States. for this topic, i will try give you several tips before you doing import cargo to Indonesia (Jakarta) commonly. below several tips import cargo :

•  Please provide Packing list and Invoice list of the cargo. it's one of several item import custom requirement in Indonesia
• Please ask to Supplier. what is HS CODE identity of the cargo, this number for check how much Duty Tax and know others requirement will be needed for import customs in Indonesia
• Please provide Bill of Lading from Shipping Lines.
• Please provide Sales Contract ( if any )
• Please provide Brosure of the cargo (if any)
• Please provide NIK ( Customs Identity) each importir from Indonesia must has it.
• Please provide SIUP and TDP ( Company established identity) each importir from Indonesia must has it
• Please provide NPWP each Importir from Indonesia must has it.
• Please provide Letter of Duty for arrange in Customs area
